Iguazu Adventure Travel & Tours ...

This is a 20 kilometer trip along the Yacaratia path, located in Iguazu National Park Reserve. The path is closed to private vehicles, and research work, such as the Carnivore Project and primate studies, take place there.

The trip along the paths, lasting about two hours, is made in specially prepared open-topped vehicles, to be able to photograph and film the targets more easily. They are real photo safaris realized through different landscapes you can find in the Provincia de Salta Province.

The El Rey and the Los Cordones National Parks are ideal places for this activity. The Baritú National Park is difficult to access and has no tourism infrastructure.

CIRCUITS

The Alta Puna (Highland) Circuit: It runs from Salta to San Antonio de los Cobres, and it takes one day. It is a 380 kilometres roundtrip, and there is the chance of being a privileged witness to the rich highland's flora and fauna: a variety of cacti, as well as vicuñas, guanacos, rheas and pink flamencos.

Even though the roads can be travelled all year long, it is convenient to take into account the sandy surface forming during the southern hemisphere winter. It is recommended not to enter the Valle Encantado Valley while it is raining, and to drive carefully when taking the bends in the Cuesta del Obispo (Bishop's Slope).

In any case, it is recommendable to be accompanied by a guide, for part of these routes run through the Parque Nacional Los Cardones. Do not forget to carry provisions, water and additional equipment for the vehicle. The levels of difficulty are 2 in the Valle del Tonco and the Valle Encantado, and 1 in the rest of the circuit.

The Rutas de la Huella Perdida (Route of the Lost Track) Circuit: It links the small towns of Guachipas and El Jardín, through the so-called Antigua Ruta Nueva (Old New Route), in the southern part of the province, on the border with the Tucumán Province.

This road is a true challenge after the rainy season, by the end of the southern hemisphere's summers; hence, it is required to gather information about its transit conditions at the Secretaría de la Gobernación de Turismo, before running it during any time of the year, a guide or expert is indispensable to negotiate this 10 hour journey, with a difficulty level of grade 3.



San Luis Adventure Travel & Tours ...

The practice of overland 4 x 4 rides offers a different way of watching and enjoying the San Luis sierra mountainous landscape. The main advantage of sport utility vehicles is that, riding on them, travellers can access places that could not be normally reached with a conventional automobile; virginal spots and paths that deserve being discovered by a four by four vehicle.

Nevertheless, it is a not much spread activity in the province; so therefore, it becomes necessary to resort to the services of a local guide, or to look for the off road clubs which have guides and the adequate rescue equipment.
