Argentina has modern aerial, maritime, fluvial, terrestrial and urban means of transportation.

Airports have terrestrial connection services with the urban centres by bus, taxi or rented cars with chauffer. The firms Manuel Tienda León (Avenida Santa Fe 790, Tel. 4315-0489) and Ecuador (Florida 1045, Tel. 4314-1999) offer a bus service every half an hour between 4:00 AM and 9:00 PM in Buenos Aires with rates as low as US$ 15 for a 40-minute trip. There are also taxis and rented cars with chauffeurs making the connection with fees as low as US$ 25.

By railroad: The main international railway goes from Buenos Aires to Asuncion in Paraguay. There are direct connections with Bolivia, Brazil, Chile and Paraguay as well.

By road: Argentina has a road system approximately 217762 kilometre long, from which about 156789 kilometres are in very good transit conditions. The roads connecting with Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia and Chile are well kept.

Car rentals: Apart from local firms, the main international car rental brands have offices in the country's most important airports and cities.

Taxis: There are around 32000 cabs in the City of Buenos Aires, and the fee is comprised by a basic rate in addition to the distance travelled and the time taken. Payment is done at the point of destination and you need to pay the amount shown on the taximeter only.

Bus: Bus lines reach all places in the country, travelling in very comfortable vehicles equipped with air conditioning, colour TV and restrooms. There are daily bus services connecting the bordering countries and all of the nation.

Fluvial: There are ferries going through the Paraná River in Uruguay, and connecting Buenos Aires with Montevideo in Uruguay.

International Airport: Every airline flying to Argentina arrives at the Ezeiza (Ministro Pastrini) Airport, located 35 kilometres away from the centre of the city of Buenos Aires, Federal Capital. The Teniente General Ricchieri highway connects them. Information centre: T. 4480-9538.

There is a bus service to the city operating every 30 minutes between 5:00 AM and 11:00 PM, taking 45 minutes to get there. You can also take a taxi though you must ask for one inside the air station. The airport facilities include banks, money exchange offices, restaurants, duty free shops and car rentals. There is transportation for domestic flights to the Jorge Newbery Airport as well, locally called Aeroparque (Airpark)

Aerolíneas Argentinas (AR). Other airlines operating in Argentina: Iberia, Air Europe, Air France, Alitalia, American Airlines, British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa and United Airlines among others.

Approximate flight time: From Madrid to Buenos Aires: 11:30 hours. From Mexico D.F. to Buenos Aires: 9:35 hours, and from New York to Buenos Aires 14:15 hours.

Departing fees:
Remember you need to pay a fee of US$ 18.00 (aprox). when leaving the country.
Transit passengers and children under two are exempt of this payment.
For flights bound to Ushuaia the departing tax is $ 13.00 and flights to Calafate the departing tax is $ 18.00. Children under two are exempt of this payment.
