BUENOS AIRES
NATURE
In spite of the coldness that cement and concrete of a metropolis like Buenos Aires may impress on its visitors. The ample and extensive Avenidas and the high rise buildings found in many areas of Buenos Aires are offset by the delicate bucolic sensation left by its beautiful and extraordinary parks and public gardens, and just on the outskirts, a natural habitat
with its generous greenery.
The Province of Buenos Aires includes within its vast area different Natural Reserves, such as the Province Parks or Wildlife Refuges, and even Historical Monuments that are usually objects or live species of animals or plant life of aesthetical, historical or scientific interest, which need special protection status.
Thus, only on the outskirts of the metropolis, the traveller can find spaces untouched by human hands and time itself, where to stop over and study close up the miniature beauty of an exotic plant or the unparalleled gracefulness of a protected animal specie.
Another must for the traveller is to take the opportunity to make a quick visit to the Natural and Historical Reserve of the Martín García Island, on the northernmost tip of Buenos Aires, and observe its Marginal forests with the botanical characteristics and composition typical of the Delta White forests. There are otters, deer and a population of cats gone wild.
Or maybe the series of box shaped islands of the Paraná Delta, or the endangered fish species in the Río Barca Grande River, in the Partido San Fernando, or the gallery forests on the shores of the Paraná and Uruguay Rivers, i.e. the Marginal forest of Punta Lara, in the Partido Ensenada.
