1- LA BAMBA RANCH
Locality: San Antonio de Areco.
Distance from Buenos Aires: 119 Km
Way of access: along the National Route N° 8 up to the Km 110, then turning to the right along the Provincial Route Nº 41, after 5 Km again a right turn through a dirt road bound for Zárate; the entrance is 7.5 Km ahead.
Description: La Bamba was one of the first Argentine estancias to lift its rail to tourism. Its origin dates back to the year 1830, when the ranch house of colonial style was an old dwelling on the Royal Road connecting Buenos Aires with the north of the country. The place is soaked in gaucho tradition, and it was declared of historic significance by the Municipality of San Antonio de Areco.
The estancia has 200 hectares of fields and 10 hectares of park, and keeps lavish suites from the XIX century. It welcomes groups of tourists staying for the day and accommodations in eight rooms. It organises shows with gaucho performers and is specialised in criollo food. It has a horse post along with a spa, playroom, TV and video.
Activities: swimming pool, diving baptise, horseback rides, hikes, rides in sulkies, branding, fishing at the Areco River, bird watching, golf, tennis (at eight kilometres). Guided tours to San Antonio de Areco: Museum and Ricardo Güiraldes Criollo Park; it is ideal for business meetings.
2- LA CINACINA RANCH
Locality: San Antonio de Areco - Bartolomé Mitre 9
Distance from the Federal Capital: 112 Km
Description: it the pioneer amongst the show-estancias, welcoming tourists for the day and numerous groups during two days of the week; its ranch house is also a magnificent museum. It has a straw-roofed area in which folkloric shows are performed. Days at the Cinacina start with empanadas and mince meat with country cookies. Besides, visitors can go on horseback or sulky rides, or rather hopscotch, bowls or knucklebones. There are ring races and an incredible criollo roast beef as well.
