Useful Information of Cordoba
Tanti
The picturesque Village of Tanti awaits the visitor at the west of Villa Carlos Paz, from where the traveller will be able to go to La Cascada, a wonderful 20 metre-high water jump surrounded by thickets of creepers and honeysuckles. Or maybe go to the Los Chorrillos Cascade, with its 115 metres high waterfall; or to scout some of the several nearby mountain ranges, among which stands Los Gigantes, whose 2465 m.a.s.l. peak is an ideal place for hiking. Those who have been at Villa Carlos Paz agree at pointing out this is a first-class option, which will suit all likes and ages.

This village is situated at the Southwest of the Province of Cordoba within a plateau devoid of mountain ranges, bathed by the Calamuchita River and shows a gentle weather. Its main activities are cattle breeding and milk production.

Every year the National Festival of Peñas Folkloricas takes place at its amphitheatre, gathering many prominent performers of Argentinean music, delighting the audiences with their music.

If we leave Cosquin towards the West, we will come across many historical places before reaching the small and gorgeous highlander locality of Tanti. This trip can be done on a car by a dirt road. Over the way, the traveller will go by the cemetery, the San Jose Chapel (1721), which allows visits only during weekends, because the grounds where it stands are private property. As we keep progressing on our way we will find Mallin and the Cave of Los Pajaritos (little birds) before finally arriving to Tanti. The return to Cosquin can be done by a paved road, or else keep our way ahead to Los Gigantes and thence to Traslasierra through the old dirt road of the Altas Cumbres.

La Falda
La Falda's main attraction is the El Dique tourist compound, stretching across eighteen thousand square metres of forest fields, where we can find a beach resort, grills, swimming pool and different sport-yards.

It stands at the feet of the La Bandera and El Cuadrado Mountains and at an altitude a little below one thousand metres above sea level. This City, located over the road between Carlos Paz and Capilla del Monte, is the centre of the Valley's Tourist Circuit. The Rio Grande de Punilla River flows by the western side of the Town before filling its waters into the La Falda Reservoir (La Isla).

Nevertheless, La Falda is not only a place where one can spend the summer season, because it also offers a large number of other alternatives, such as museums, trips on 4 x 4 vehicles, circuits and strolls, all of which are supported by an ample lodging infrastructure, thus making the place suitable for visiting all the year round. The Tango Festival is already a classic event during fall.

Alike most of the La Punilla Valley, La Falda has a privileged micro-weather throughout the year, which makes of this locality, situated at 67 kilometres from the City of Cordoba, the perfect place to make a holyday escapade.

It is also possible to enjoy the gifts of wilderness during the low seasons, thanks to the highland landscapes that surround the centre of the city. The Puma Park, at the shores of the Rio Grande River is the perfect location for taking a ride on horseback, while El Chorrito Stream and its tree-carpeted side-slopes bid the passer-by to stop and make contact with nature in its purest state.

If you are seeking for striking views, the ascent to the La Banderita Mountain will be the best option, due to the fact that from its 1,350 m.a.s.l. summit all of the La Punilla Valley will stretch at our feet. During wintertime, visitors can take this excursion guided by trained experts with no extra cost. There is another mountain nearby La Falda that is called El Cuadrado. There is a viewing point at its top called El Balcón de las Nubes (the Balcony of the Clouds), offering a full sight of the city and its close surroundings.

Another attractive place, at a distance of 21 kilometres from La Falda, is the Olaén Waterfall. The dirt road that goes to the locality of Characato must be taken to reach this site, turning to the left at the crossroads. This route will lead us to a natural river beach where the remains of a culture older than Los Comechingones (the Ayampitín Culture) have been found, as well as several fossils.

You cannot miss visiting the El Silencio Ranch, nor the Natural Park El Peñón del Indio Enamorado (Cliff of the Indigene in Love), a campsite furnished with all kinds of services. An attractive circuit within its boundaries will allow you to enter the cave, the tunnel and the labyrinth.
