ASCOCHINGA
This locality, situated in the Northern region of Sierras Chicas, stands out for its unique scenery and its benign climate. Asconchinga brings the ideal setting to make horse back rides and tours. Among its ancient manors and residential abodes, two large hotels, accessible to all budgets and an excellent golf course have been built.
Through a dirt road that goes to La Pampa, we will get to the beach resorts of the river and its adjoining campsites. By the road to La Cumbre, seven kilometres away from Asconchinga, we will reach the beautiful natural resort of Tres Cascadas and at a distance of four kilometres by the paved road to Jesús María stands the Estancia La Paz Ranch.
The multiple accessing ways and the diverse tours which depart from the facilities of the Hotel Parque Asconchinga allow us to discover the cultural and historical riches of this region, let alone the 'Camino de la Historia' or the 'Path of History'. This alternatives will allow the visitor to get acquainted with the Chapels of Candonga and Santa Catalina, both of which belong to the Jesuit period, to survey the Ongamira Caves, the road stations of Sinsacate, Barranca Yaco or any of the many remains of the Ranches which were formerly owned by the presidents Justo and Roca.
But if adventure is the game, it is possible to reach the waterfall of La Estancita by the road to El Cuadrado or Las Tres Cascadas nearby the hotel. At the grounds of this lodging facility, under the aged treetops, lays another option, perhaps a most quiet one, but not a bit less pleasing: the chance of tasting the salami and wine of the settlement, home made and very appetizing indeed.
