CORDOBA
CEBALLOS RIVER
Located at 28 kilometres from the City of Córdoba, this town is placed at the centre of the Sierras Altas region, at an altitude of 650 metres above sea level and framed by a number of mountains carpeted by autochthon vegetation. The Town itself has a whimsical urban design which develops into the first mountain ridge of the Province, an area known as La Quebrada.
Rio Ceballos offers several attractive circuits for the visitor, which range from such activities that are related to adventure and contact with nature to nocturnal amusement within its discotheques, casinos and restaurants.
But without any kind of doubt, the main attraction of the locality is the Reserva Hídrica Natural Parque La Quebrada, a natural park where only non-polluting nautical activities are allowed, such as windsurfing, kayaking and canoeing. This Park comprises an extension of 4.200 hectares of lands, presenting an ecosystem described as Chaco Serrano, which contains a great variety of wild flora and fauna. Hunting, starting fires or producing damage to the plants of the Park and are strictly forbidden and severely punished.
The Park contains the additional asset of the Los Hornillos Cascade, a 12 metres high waterfall resembling a large mouth of stone at the bottom of which lays a deep natural pond, and another one at the topside of it, which allow the visitor to take a bath within its crystal clear -although at the same time chilling- waters and to perform some high diving jumps. It is advisable, for safety reasons, to do a previous check of the shifting depths of the lower pond, and it is strongly recommended not to litter any kind of non-degradable garbage.

Furthermore, taking the route that starts at the La Quebrada Lake and continues alongside the course of the secondary tributary of the river in the direction of Villa Colachanga, we will arrive to the Los Condores Cascade, a water jump surrounded by thick vegetation. The road to this place starts at the road that frames the Lake itself until reaching the confluence with the Colachanga Stream, from where a pedestrian trek winds upstream.
