Among its natural attractions, stands out the Laguna Azul (Blue Lagoon), a water mirror which was created where an old quarry used to be. This 500 metres long beach resort strikes the visitor due to the deep blue hue of its waters, produced by the reflection of the sky against the minerals contained in it. This is the favourite place for diving lovers.
The locality of Jesús María stands at a distance of 51 kilometres from the City of Córdoba and at an altitude of 530 metres above sea level. The traditions of the Gauchos have in Jesús María some of their finest moments at night during the Festival de la Doma (horse taming) y Folclore. It has become one of the main festivals of the Country, drawing together great numbers of people who arrive to this locality during the first fortnight of January to enjoy the events of horse taming and musical performances of international prestige.
Another place worth visiting is the Museum of La Estancia Jesuítica San Isidro Labrador, which comprises the Church, the residence and the stockrooms, which still preserve the magical spirit of the buildings from that time. There is also the Posta de Sinsacate, constructed in 1709, which hosted some historical celebrities. Inside its Chapel were kept wake for the mortal remains of Brigadier Juan Facundo Quiroga, who was murdered nearby this place.
Colonia Caroya is a locality founded in the year of 1878 by Italian immigrants at a distance of 44 kilometres from the City of Córdoba. Its economy is mainly based on farming activities, with a fine production of wine, cheese, sausages and canned food, which have given great renown to this locality. Within its cultural attractions can be mentioned the Provincial Museum Casa de Caroya, declared by the UNESCO Cultural Patrimony of Mankind. This ancient ranch house still preserves the grandeur of the past and constitutes an important historical legacy.
The Cerro Colorado compound is a place the tourist could not miss visiting, for it is one of the most important archaeological compounds in South America, containing more than 35 thousand pictographs.
The colour of the ground of this place is entrancing. The pictographs it contains depict some combat scenes along with animal and geometrical figures. They are disseminated around more than a hundred locations, which include small caves, stone roofs or at plain view over the mountainsides.
Within the grounds of this area stands a site museum that brings assistance for a better understanding of the meanings of the pictographs and brings also the possibility to have an insight of the culture and life of the aborigines. Within the Mountain itself, in the place known as "Agua Escondida" (Hidden Water), the visitor can have a tour by the abode of the song writer and singer Atahualpa Yupanqui, who fell for the place and therein composed most of his work.
The Chapel of Candonga is a temple from the middle 18th century which lays nailed between the mountains. It is regarded as a cultural relic and has been declared lately as National Monument. The Chapel keeps an image of Nuestra Señora del Rosario preserved within a shrine of painted wood.
Due to its beauty, the temple has been portrayed in many of the paintings done by local artists.
MUSEO PROVINCIAL CASA DE CAROYA - PROVINCIAL MUSEUM
This old mansion was the property of Ignacio Duarte y Quirós, who in the year of 1687 handed it to the Monserrat National School as a summer residence for its pupils. Later on, in 1814, it became a factory that produced weapons for the army and later on to house the first 'friulanos' who in 1878 settled in Colonia Caroya.
COLONIA CAROYA
It is a settlement composed by the Italian pilgrims who arrived from the region of Friuli. It is famous for its regional wines, cheese, sausages, sweets and canned fruit. This locality is the host to the Fiesta Provincial de la Vendimia (grape harvest)
MUSEO JESUITICO NACIONAL DE JESUS MARIA - NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE JESUITS
It has been declared by the UNESCO as Patrimony of Mankind. The estate was acquired by the Jesuit Order in 1618. Inside its old cloisters are kept collections of highly valued archaeological and historical objects, religious garments, and important collections of post stamps, medals and religious images.
MUSEO RURAL POSTA DE SINSACATE - COUNTRY MUSEUM
This building was once a part of the chain of road stages strewn along the Camino Real del Alto Perú. Among the pieces contained within its collection stands out a chariot which belonged to Juan Manuel de Rosas. Inside its Chapel, the wake for the mortal remains of Facundo Quiroga was kept.
TULUMBA
This small town still preserves most of its colonial features. Within its 19th century Church can be seen a tabernacle carved and painted by the indigenes from the missions for the Jesuit Order in Córdoba. Its ante-sacristy has a peculiar Christ with articulated joints dated from 1799.
CERRO COLORADO
At the walls of the cavities and the cliffs at the sides of this Mountain, the indigenes illustrated scenes from their daily living and their religious beliefs. These rock paintings are considered as one of the best among the artistic representations from the Pre-Hispanic period, constituting one of the most important historical remains within the American Continent.
CASA MUSEO DE ATAHUALPA YUPANQUI - HOUSE MUSEUM
This Museum is located in the place called "Agua Escondida", which was named so by the popular Argentinean musician itself, who chose this place as his 'querencia' (country home) in 1940. It treasures some of the personal objects he made use of during his long artistic life. It also contains a video chamber in which some of his testimonial monologues, his performances and many other documentary material are re-played.
VILLA DE MARIA DE RIO SECO
This is the place where Leopoldo Lugones was born in 1874. His birthplace is now a Provincial Museum. The poet was inspired by the last indigene assault to the town for his "Romance del Río Seco". A Virgin's statue (called 'Cautiva' or 'Captive) which was stolen from the Town and later retrieved by the townsmen on that occasion is at present located at the Main Church.
MUSEO FERNANDO FADER - MUSEUM
This Museum is a memorial to the life of the painter from the City of Mendoza Fernando Fader, who built it and dwelled here with his family. A part of his works, considered as one of the most valued ones among the artistic inheritance of Argentina, was created in this place at Loza Corral in the Department of Ischiín.
SANTA CATALINA
This country house, which was declared by the UNESCO as Patrimony of Mankind, was the most important headquarters of the Jesuits in their time within the Province. Among the buildings this place contains we have to mention the Temple, with its baroque façade constructed in 1763, also the residences for the novices, the workshops, the houses of the slaves and the houses for the indigenes. The temple keeps at its interior an old pipe organ, some paintings which depict the Passion of Christ and the original wooden boards of the shrine at the main altar.
TRES CASCADAS
The Tres Cascadas waterfalls consist of three water jumps which are produced by the course of the Asconchinga River, at the base of which a number of natural pools are shaped by the down-pouring waters, around which an attractive river beach resort has been fashioned.
CAPILLA DE CANDONGA - CHAPEL
This temple, which is considered as a National Monument, a survivor of the colonial times from the 18th century, was the praying room of the Santa Gertrudis country house. It contains an image which portrays Nuestra Señora del Rosario placed inside a shrine made of painted wood.
DIQUE LA QUEBRADA - RESERVOIR
This reservoir is situated in the water course of the Ceballos River, it bears a maximum depth of 36 metres and a surface of 35 hectares. It retains the waters of a small river basin which has been declared as Natural Water Reserve (Reserva Hídrica Natural) of the Province.
MUSEO SPILIMBERGO - MUSEUM
This museum is located at the house which was once the property of Lino Eneas Spilimbergo in Unquillo. Several paintings of this artist are preserved inside this museum, as well as the artistic creations of Francisco Vidal, Carlos Alonso, Malanca, Quinquela Martín, Cerrito and others.
DIQUE MAL PASO - RESERVOIR

This dam was constructed between the years of 1884 and 1886 to provide with potable and field irrigating water to the urban belt of Córdoba. This dam, which preceded the San Roque Reservoir, was an experiment with which to evaluate the quality of the limes of Córdoba.
