Walk to the Las Rosas Stream (the Cave of the Inmaculada Concepción)
The privileged geography of Río de los Sauces displays its peculiar charm on a typical stream of the highlands, which runs across the Town at its northern sector.
The Las Rosas Stream receives its waters from a source labelled 'the Fountain of Alejandro' within the grounds of the century old ranch of "Los Cocos", to become lately another tributary of the Los Sauces River at the vicinity of the old bridge.
Along its course it offers the sight of a rich flora of autochthon and exotic species, as the china, espinillo, pepper tree, carob tree, moradillo, peje, willow, cafeto, tala, creepers and ferns among others.
The magnificent natural scenario that is displayed while travelling alongside the course of this stream has allowed transforming this area into a tourist route where religion and landscape are its main assets.
A beautiful image of the Inmaculada Concepción stands within this secluded corner of the highlands, which, along with the captivating countryside that surrounds it, forces the visitor to uphold the sensation that here, at the Paseo de las Rosas, time seems to have remained unaffected since long ago.
The practice of non-traditional activities provides some unique sensations among some of the most impressive landscapes, combining them with relaxing experiences. The visitor can enjoy the practice of high and medium level trekking, mountain bike, touring on bikes, horse riding, rappel and trips on four-wheel-drive vehicles across mountains, rivers and routes, which are only available to this kind of transport, staying overnight at mountain shelters or within cabins. We can assure you that it will be an unforgettable experience.
