This Village was founded in the year of 1930 over the lands located between the northern shores of the Rio III River and the Reservoir named alike. The Sierras Chicas Mountain Range and the water mirror of the Reservoir provide the main outlines to these lands, which so intimately link the visitor to feelings of tranquillity and relax, which can be obtained as well when hooking some atherine fish or while practising nautical sports over some wind or motor propelled vessels.

There are many hotels and a large campsite nearby the Municipal Beach Resort, where the 'Festival del Lago' is annually performed during the last fortnight of January.

El Torreón - located at a distance of 100 kilometres over Route 5.
This building, constructed in 1950, is a reproduction of one of the towers of the Manzanares Castle in Alcalá de Henares, Spain, which was built in 1440. The descendants of the Marqués de Santillana, a Spanish writer, are the owners of el Torreón. It is an entertainment compound.

El Edén, Natural Reserve.
Located at the kilometre 722 of Provincial Route 5, it shelters the animal and plant wildlife from the region.
