This locality, strategically placed at only minutes distance from the city of Córdoba, owes its name to Juan Bialet Massé, its renowned founder.

A magnificent accomplishment of Nature, where men developed its sensitivity and creativity to encrust in the midst of this marvellous setting the locality of Bialet Massé, peacefully laying over a green and serene valley, giving as a result the ideal place for the tourist that seeks nature and rest, but most specially for the itinerant traveller, because of the interesting though not far away circuits available.

What to See

Historical Furnace 'El Argentino'
Located at the side of National Route N° 38, this furnace was constructed in the year of 1884 by Doctor Bialet Massé for the elaboration of hydrated lime. Beloww this Furnace, able of producing some 26 tons of that product a day, run a tunnel more than 100 metres long to ease the location of material. The lime that was produced in this furnace was used in the construction of the first Dam in the San Roque Lake and also in the Mal Paso Dam.

The Municipal Beach Resort
A River Beach surrounded by trees that forms a pool with the calm waters of the Cosquin River.

La Toma Beach Resort
A place perfect for the practise of rowing, is a water reservoir that was born by the presence of a great wall, built in the times when the first dam was constructed.

Iglesia de San Plácido - Church
This modern Church is located in the high grounds of the Sierras, it has a Via Crucis crowned by the Virgin on top of the mountain.

"Los Labios del Indio" o "Barranca Colorada" ("The Lips of the Indian" or "Red Ravine")
This formation was made by the eroding action of the Cosquín River, facing the Occidental skirts of the Sierras Chicas. The observer will be captivated by its impressive beauty, which honours its surname of "Pueblo Paisaje" or "Landscape Town". There is a beach resort at the near distance in which fishing, rowing and swimming can be practised.

There are many routes to come here: By the Provincial Route E55 at 45 kilometres from Córdoba or by the National Routes 20 and 38, connecting the Villa Carlos Paz City with the beautiful Punilla Valley.

San Roque Lake
This Lake offers the possibility of practising all kinds of water activities and nautical sports. Its River, during its meandering course, forms large beaches, inviting us to go fishing and relaxing.

Museo y Casa de la Cultura - Museum and House of Culture. This entity functions at the house where Doctor Bialet Massé dwelled for seven years. There is an exhibit of some of the belongings of the builder of the San Roque Dam and precursor of the Rights of the Worker. There are also a collection of money bill from Argentina and paintings by local artists.
