CORDOBA

GIARDINO VILLE

Located in the northwestern sector of the Punilla Valley, this beautiful residential Town plagued with flowers is the place of choice for artists and artisans. It offers its visitors a pleasant and peaceful environment, and the warmth of its inhabitants who have a clear environmental conscience.

What to visit

Chapel of the Chacras (Thea)
Built in 1780, this chapel was one of the first constructions in the area, and keeps its attraction on its original construction and in the conservation of its interior.
It is located along the road leading to Los Troncos Castle, in the vicinity of Thea.

Los Troncos Castle
This castle stands out for its magnificent construction due to the materials used in it, amongst which we have different types of stones and pink marble.
The urban zone of the Town can be appreciated from up here.

Chapel of Our Lady of Mercy and Cemetery
This is one of the oldest chapels in the country and it was finished in the year 1700. It has a simple structure with a sloped roof and adobe walls 80 centimetres wide. It has an outstanding floor made of bricks and locust wood and three altars. One of them was built on the outside during the colonial period in order to convert the shy Indians. The wooden Christ also belongs to this period.
It has an outstanding Italian stable, amongst many other objects of different periods, that congregates a great number of devotees who lay their offerings there all year round. Juana Micono de Giardino donated it to the chapel.
