SAN ESTEBAN
Chapel of Our Lady of Pain (Dolores)
Regarding the ranch of Dolores, name given by the chapel under the advocation of Our Lady of Dolores, and which was the oratory of the Burgos, it was inherited by Don Heraclio Molina, son of Don Eusebio Molina, who sold it around 1950 to the Association of Oblates of Mary Immaculate, the current owners.
The Chapel is located in the barrio neighbourhood of Dolores, 500 metres away from National Route N° 38, and 2 kilometres north of San Esteban. It is a colonial construction that has a porch of thick walls and a door made of locust, while in its interior the wooden pulpit and several religious paintings stand out, along with a carved image of the Virgin and its old bells. It can be visited all day long during the tourist season.
House of Hugo Wast - Peach Flower
It is located in the barrio neighbourhood of Dolores, 500 metres away from National Route N° 38, and it is a building from the late XIX century whose façade is composed of a gallery with an L shape with arches. Doctor Gustavo Martinez Zuviria lived in this house and it still belongs to his family. This important author wrote his book Peach Flower, which is inspired in local characters and habits, in here.
Municipal resort
It is a swimming pool on the bank of the Dolores River with a sand bottom and depths varying between 0,20 and 1,80 metres. It also has a bar, restrooms, barbeques and ample green areas. It can be reached coming along National Route N° 38, then through the paved Provincial Route up to the centre of the Town, and from there finally two hundred metres along a dirt road.
