It is one of the oldest towns in the Department of San Javier and the main gathering centre for oranges and medicinal herbs of Cordoba's western sector. La Paz is concentrated around the old hacienda house of Los Talas, which conforms a small town along with the Chapel of San Juan de Talas. It is located 41 kilometres away from the Town of Dolores, going along the paved route starting south of San Javier, which goes by a series of small towns and ends at La Paz.

You will find Loma Bola at three kilometres, where you can visit the Ecological Farm of El Manantial and a workshop manufacturing semiprecious stone works.

You can practice adventure sports in this zone, and you can stay at a hacienda hotel, hostels, inns, or at the municipal campsite. You can return from La Paz coming both along the Coastal Road and National Route N° 148, which goes by the Town of Dolores, and southwards along the dirt road leading to Merlo, on San Luis' territory.
