At the junction of Provincial Route N° 15 and National Route N° 38 is located Villa de Soto. This Town, as well as its neighbour Bañado de Soto stand next to the Soto River, renowned for its ample sand beaches.

Some 10 kilometres after leaving Villa de Soto across the National Route N° 38 towards La Rioja, the traveller will reach the entrance road to the Dique Pichanas Dam. From this point, it takes some 12 kilometres more over a paved road to arrive to the water mirror around which lays the peculiar landscape of the Sierra de Guasapampa
