VILLA DOLORES
Situated at an altitude of 529 metres above sea level, the City of Villa Dolores is characterised by its hot summers during which the sky stays clear for about 11 days a month on average. In ten other days it is usual that rain falls, specially by the afternoon and the night.
The electric storms that happen in this area, as well as in other zones in the Highlands of Córdoba, are sometimes an event that needs to be experienced. The maximum average temperatures are of about 32° C while the minimum average temperatures can drop to 17° or 18° C. The highest absolute temperature registered between the years of 1931 and 1960 was 44,7° C on January 9th of 1955.
On winter the days are usually fresh and the nights colder, but, due to the intense solar radiation, staying outside is pleasant at noon time through the first hours of the afternoon. The lowest temperature registered in the mentioned lapse was 10,8° C below cero on July, 1933.
