The exuberance of nature makes Puerto Iguazu a very special place, with a humid, subtropical climate that is highly advantageous for a tourist destination. There is no definite dry season in this area, so winters are never harsh, and frosts are few and far between.

The region is influenced by the rivers Iguazu and Parana, and also by the reservoir of the Itaipú hydroelectric dam, which is responsible for the increased humidity in the area.

Rainfall can reach 2,000 mm a year, and relative humidity ranges between 75% and 90%. Average temperatures: June - July, 11 to 23° Celsius and December - January, 20 to 32° C. Prevailing winds are from the north, east and north-east, with an annual average velocity of 21 km/h.

The best time to visit the Falls is during the rainy season, from January to March. This is when water flow increases and, thanks to this, the fauna becomes more abundant. During the rest of the year the flow is more reduced, but there are no major variations.

It is important for travelers to take light, comfortable clothing, and good footwear (roads through the forest are often muddy). They should be careful about slipping on many sections of the itineraries.

Anyone wanting to take the launch trip should carry spare clothing, because, despite any waterproof clothing they may be wearing, they will still get wet. For the footpaths through the forest, mosquito repellent should be included.
