The diverse geographical areas of the Province offer the traveller an attractive field of possibilities to practise adventure, ecological and ethnic tourism, all of which will allow them to get in direct contact with the underlying Province of Jujuy's landscape.

In the Valley areas, for example, you can practise trekking, hiking and camping out in the mountains, horseback riding along the peaks, hills and gullies, close to the Andes Mountainrange or along the shores of some mountain stream, lake or waterfall.

There are also mountain biking; plant and wildlife excursions, archaeological sites, rock paintings, pre-Columbian cultivation terraces, photo safaris, as well as many other activities.

For travelling and overland tours, four-wheel vehicles are used to cross deserts, salt flats, savannas, mountain and jungle forest trails. Many of the places visited are off the beaten track, but sometimes there is a glimpse of human settlements in the distance.

Mountain climbing can be practised on the peaks of Chaņi (6,200 metres), Zapaleri (5,653 metres), Granada (5,705 m.a.s.l.) and Goyaguayma (5,668 metres above sea level).

For those lovers of climbing, there are professionals that will; organise your climbs according to three main activities: Rock climbing, rappel and Tyrolese. One of the most visited places for these activities is the spectacular Devil's Throat - La Garganta del Diablo, which can be climbed sideways.

All these activities can and should be carried out with the expert help of specialised guides. Thus, accompanied by guides and skilful experts, the traveller may get to know and learn about the wonderful stories and legends of the place.

Many of these still beat in the hearts and hands of the people that live and work in the Puna, in the gorges, close to the salt flats, in the valleys or on the shores of the rivers and lakes in the area.
