MONOLITH TO THE TROPIC OF CAPRICORN - TRÓPICO DE CAPRICORNIO
It is located at the entrance to the village. Here you will also find the sundial, which is located on the line where the Tropic of Capricorn passes through the Province.
On one side of the Ruta Nacional Nº 9, a 100 kilometres from San Salvador de Jujuy.
Activities to practise: observation, photography.
THE MILL - EL MOLINO
The Jesuits built it in the XVIIth century. It has been restored and the present owners use it an allow visitors. It is to be found at La Banda, 200 metres from the village of Uquía.
To get there you must cross the bridge over the Río Grande River. Visiting Hours: Every day from 8:00 Am till 6:00 PM.
THE YACORAITE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE
A pre Hispanic settlement where you can find more or less defined dwellings on the top of the hill. It can be found in the gorge - quebrada of the same name where its small river runs into the Quebrada de Humahuaca Gorge.
THE LOS AMARILLOS ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE
A pre Hispanic settlement, which still standing dwellings were of a rectangular shape, usually not very big. There are door openings and masonry walls. It is located in the Yacoraite quebrada, built on a platform and part of an adjacent hill.
