Solitary and strange, Los Terrones appear as vertical cliffs of red earth to the west of Route 38. Behind them lie Los Cocos, Capilla del Monte and the Uritorco. Then the road turns right and there, in Los Altos de Ongamira, the traveller is suddenly left speechless. It is hard to believe that nature could create such a landscape of canyons, with narrow fissures that filter a shaft of light, a run of mountain water and the wild fragrance of aromatic herbs. It is no exaggeration to say that this is one of the most striking landscapes anywhere in Argentina.
Then the traveller arrives at the dreamlike destination called Dos Lunas. Previously this old estancia house only functioned as a luxurious stopover and point of departure for pony treks. This has now changed and guests are received in real style; where one can indulge oneself by not doing anything but enjoying the wonderfully refined atmosphere. If you are able to drag yourself out of the house, we highly recommend going on their fairytale pony treks with a fantastically comfortable saddle, a fabulous tent, wonderful picnics served on a crisp table cloth and in the company of a deluxe guide, Juan Fernández Ocampo.
