Visas:
Everybody who visits Argentina need visa except:
(a) Citizens of the European Union and the United States of America for smaller stays of 90 days.
(b) Citizens of Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru and Venezuela, for stays of a maximum of 90 days.
(c) Passengers in transit who continue their trip in a period of 6 hours without leaving the airport.
For the remaining countries we recommend himself to consult regarding the visa in an Argentine embassy or consulate.
Warning: The mentioned visa exemptions are solely for tourist and business trips.
Types of visa and prices: Of Businesses, Visa of 15 days (for artists, musicians, etc.) and Of Transit. The price varies, but approximately it is of USD 30.
Validity: Tourist Visa generally up to 90 days. The extension of the visa is possible for some nationalities (to consult with the Consulate or the Consular Section of the Embassy).
Getting a Visa: In the Consulate or Consular Section in the Embassy
Requirements of request: Tourist Visa: (a) Passport. (b) Form of request. (c) 1 photograph passport size. (d) The amount, that can be paid in cash, by check or postal check
(e) Return Ticket. (f) Letter of the company where the applicant works. Visa of 15 days: Requirements (a) until (e) of the previous section. In addition (f) Letter to the company, organization or company requiring the services of the applicant.
Business Visa of: Requirements (a) - (e). In addition to (f) Letter of introduction of the contracting company and letter of invitation of the company in Argentina (original if it is in a language different and translation from the Spanish). (g) Banking references and test economic solution. Time of transaction: 2 days.
Warning: The minors who travel single from or towards Argentina, must present/display a letter of authority of their legal parents or tutors that will have to be approved by the Argentine Consulate if it is emitted abroad. Severe fines and risk of deportation for those passengers exist who do not fulfill the immigration requirements.
Visa extensions:
When entering the country a valid tourist card by 90 days will be given to the visitor, which can be renewed after he finish more of this term by 90 days through the Dirección Nacional de Migraciones or at Av. Antártida Argentina 1355, Capital Federal. Tel: 43170200.
Travelling with minors
In Argentina one is considered a minor until reaching the age of 21 years, therefore all those minor to this legal age that wish to only enter the country or accompany another person who is not their legal tutor, must present/display a written authorization signed by the father, mother or tutor sighted by the Argentine consul of the place of origin. This can be included in the same passport.
